How Factoryfeed collects, uses, and protects your data.
Last Updated: September 17, 2026
Overview
Factoryfeed is a business-to-business platform where garment manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers discover each other, browse product catalogues and connect to trade.
This Privacy Policy describes how FactoryFeed ("we", "us", or "the Company"), located in Tamil Nadu, India, collects, uses and discloses information when you use our mobile application and related services ("the Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Key Definitions
- Company: FactoryFeed, Tamil Nadu, India.
- Personal Data: Any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
- Service: The Factoryfeed mobile application available on iOS and Android, and our website.
- Usage Data: Data collected automatically from your use of the Service, such as device information and activity logs.
Information You Give Us
Account and contact details
- Mobile phone number — used to sign in, verified with a one-time password
- Name and display name
- Email address, where you provide one
- WhatsApp number, where you provide one
- Profile photo
Business details
- Business name, brand name and market name
- Business type — for example retailer, wholesaler or manufacturer
- Business city and address
- A map link to your shop, if you choose to paste one. We do not collect your device's GPS location, and the app never asks for location access.
- Business description, product categories and the brands you deal in
- Trade terms you choose to publish, such as pricing preference, minimum order quantity, payment terms and packaging notes
- GST number, where you provide one. Suppliers are asked for a GSTIN before publishing a catalogue, because it is how buyers know a seller is a registered business. We use it to verify and badge your business, and for nothing else.
Content you create
- Product videos, photos and catalogues you upload
- Captions, descriptions and enquiry messages you write
- Posts, comments, and content you save or follow
Photos, camera and files — With your permission, we access your camera and photo library so you can take or choose images to upload: a profile photo, a product photo or a catalogue. We only access what you select, and you can withdraw this permission at any time in your device settings.
Information We Collect Automatically
Usage and activity data
- Screens you open and features you use
- Videos you watch, and how long you watch them
- Searches you run, catalogues you open, suppliers you follow
- Enquiries you start
- Session dates, times and duration
Device and technical data
- Device model, operating system and app version
- Device language and region
- IP address
- Crash reports, error logs and performance data
- A device-generated identifier used to recognise your installation
Advertising identifier — On Android we collect your Google Advertising ID, and on iOS your Advertising Identifier (IDFA) — on iOS only if you allow tracking when your device asks. We use it to measure whether our advertising works, so we know which channels bring new businesses to the platform. You can reset or limit this identifier in your device settings at any time, and on iOS you can decline it outright.
How you arrived — If you open the Service through a shared link, an invitation or an advertisement, we record which link or campaign brought you. This tells us which of our channels actually work.
Screen Activity Recordings
We use a product-analytics service to record how the app is used, so we can find and fix problems — a button that does not respond, a screen where people get stuck, a video that fails to play. These recordings capture the screens you visit and where you tap and scroll.
What you should know about this:
- Sensitive fields are hidden. Phone numbers, one-time passwords and GST numbers are automatically masked before a recording is created. We never see them in a recording.
- It is not always on. Only a small sample of sessions is recorded.
- We do not record keystrokes. We do not capture what you type into fields, and we do not use your microphone or camera for this.
- Recordings are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- We can switch it off remotely without updating the app.
We do this to improve the Service, not to monitor individuals.
Why We Use Your Information
- To run the Service — create your account, sign you in, show you catalogues, connect you to suppliers
- To verify businesses — confirm a seller is a registered business and show a verified badge
- To personalise — show catalogues and videos relevant to your business type, city and interests
- To enable trade — pass your enquiry to the supplier you chose to contact
- To communicate — send enquiry and account updates, and product notifications you have enabled
- To improve — understand which features are used, find bugs, and fix crashes and broken flows
- To measure marketing — understand which channels and campaigns bring new businesses
- To stay safe and lawful — prevent fraud and misuse, and meet legal obligations
When We Contact You
- Transactional messages — enquiry and account updates, sent over WhatsApp, SMS or push notification. These are part of the Service.
- Product notifications — new catalogues, suppliers you follow, relevant drops. You control these in your device notification settings, and you can turn them off without losing access to the Service.
Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal data.
Other users. Your business profile, and the catalogues and content you publish, are visible to other users of the Service — that is the point of the platform. Your phone number is shared with a supplier when you choose to send them an enquiry.
Service providers. We use established companies to run the Service. Each receives only what it needs:
- Google Firebase — app hosting, database, sign-in, storage, crash reporting and push notifications. Receives account and content data, device and crash data.
- Google Analytics for Firebase — usage analytics. Receives usage events, device data and the advertising identifier.
- Google Cloud AI (Gemini / Vertex AI) — reads catalogue text and photos to extract product details such as fabric, sizes and price. Receives catalogue content you upload.
- PostHog — product analytics and screen-activity recordings. Receives usage events, masked recordings, business type, city and account age.
- Branch — deep links and attribution, making shared links open the right screen. Receives device and link data.
- Meta (Facebook) — advertising measurement. Receives app events and the advertising identifier.
- Algolia — search. Receives catalogue and product data.
- Interakt / WhatsApp Business — sending enquiry and account messages. Receives your phone number and message content.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information where the law requires it, in response to a valid request from a public authority, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may transfer. We will give notice before it becomes subject to a different policy.
Where Your Information Is Stored
We are based in India, and our primary database is hosted in India. Some of our service providers process data on servers outside India, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens, we rely on the provider's contractual data-protection commitments.
By using the Service you consent to this transfer.
How Long We Keep It
- Account and business data — while your account is active
- Content you publish — while your account is active, or until you delete it
- Screen-activity recordings — 30 days, then deleted automatically
- Usage analytics — up to 14 months in aggregate form
- After you delete your account — permanently deleted within 90 days, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation
Your Choices and Rights
- Delete your account. In the app, go to Settings → Delete my Account and confirm. Your account and personal data are permanently deleted within 90 days.
- Access or correct your information. Edit your profile in the app at any time, or write to us at the address below.
- Control permissions. Camera, photos, notifications and — on iOS — ad tracking are all controlled in your device settings, and you can change them whenever you like.
- Reset your advertising identifier. Your device settings let you reset it or switch off personalised advertising.
- Withdraw from marketing messages. Turn off notifications in your device settings, or tell us and we will stop.
- Raise a complaint. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, write to us first. You may also complain to the data-protection authority in your country.
To exercise any of these rights, email app.factoryfeed@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, authenticated access to our systems, and access controls that limit staff access to what their role requires. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take this seriously and we will tell you if a breach affects you.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to Other Sites
The Service may link to sites we do not operate — a supplier's online store, for example. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last Updated" date above and post the new version here. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
